The firefighters of Iquique in Chile gave a fond farewell to Negro, a black dog who had served as a firehouse dog for a decade, upon his death.
It is with deep sorrow that we report the passing of Negro on March 6, 2018, at the age of 14. Throughout his life, he was devoted to helping firefighters in their efforts to save lives.
The firefighters chose to host a special ceremony for Negro, who had been appointed with the title of "honorary firefighter."
They laid the dog to rest in a white casket and solemnly bore him to a plot near the fire station. In his memory, a tree was planted nearby. Rest in peace, Negro - you truly deserve it.
Pass this along to your family and friends.
